As the Head of Legal & DPO, you will be critical in overseeing and managing all legal matters within the bank.
You will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to senior management and safeguarding the company's interests.
This position requires a deep understanding of Luxembourg's banking regulations and legal landscape and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to the Authorized Managers, BoD, and stakeholders.
- Draft, review and negotiate various commercial and operational contracts about the activities of the Bank.
- Manage the ongoing regulatory approvals and corporate life of the Bank.
- Oversee the calendar of meetings and approvals, liaise with relevant functions on the drafting of ancillary documentation and drafting minutes, and keep the Bank’s registrations and entries in the public records up to date.
- Interact with the parent company and group companies as well as local stakeholders in the host countries on corporate governance affairs.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the Bank and proactively advise the company on potential impacts and necessary actions in close collaboration with Compliance.
- Continuously develop strong and trustworthy relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry best practices through active participation in working groups and continuous networking.
- Act as local Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) in collaboration with Group DPO.
Requirements
- 10+ years as a legal professional in the banking industry, with a strong understanding of Luxembourg's legal and regulatory framework.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess legal risks and provide practical solutions.
- Perfect mastery of French and English is required.
